Why are we Using Essential Oils in the Kitchen?

You want your home to smell fresh and inviting for yourself, your family and for your guests. When you live in a busy household bustling with family, chances are your home is prone to clutter and accumulating dirt & dust… and maybe even a smell or two that you’re not really where sure where it came from!

Don’t worry!! Using essential oils in the kitchen can help.

Safety Tip for Essential Oils in the Kitchen

Essential oils offer many similar benefits to traditional cleaners and fresheners. Since they are natural and non-toxic, you don’t have to worry about being exposed to any unwanted chemicals and the side effects they may cause.

As a friendly reminder, we do not encourage anyone to ingest essential oils. We may be talking about the kitchen, but essential oils are not meant to be part of any food or drinks. They are potent enough to provide relief from inhaling or applying to the skin – there’s no reason to put them in your mouth or send them through your sensitive digestive system! Read this to learn more about essential oil safety!

Essential oils are a safe and natural way to brighten up your home for many occasions. Let’s dive in to our best tips to keep your kitchen happy and healthy using essential oils! After all, it is one of the most popular places in your house. Read on to learn how using essential oils in the kitchen can keep it sparkling and fresh, without the nasty chemicals.

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil is commonly used to treat headaches. Its potent aroma can help to open your airways and relieve pain and stress. For a quick remedy that you can whip up while working in the kitchen, boil some water on the stove. Once the water is boiling, add it to your favorite mug with a drop or two of peppermint essential oil from Jordan Essentials. As the hot water creates steam, lean over it and inhale. The steam will diffuse the peppermint oil, giving you the relief you need to keep on with your day.

Lemon Oil

You may already know about the cleaning properties of lemon. Chances are, you’re used to using lemon juice rather than lemon essential oil. The juice of a lemon is known for its acidic quality which is capable of breaking through grease and oils or whatever accumulated gunk you may have on that old cookie sheet. Lemon essential oil offers many of the same properties for cleaning, and it’s much more aromatic than lemon juice alone. Just a drop or two of lemon oil can remove price tags from appliances and cut through grease and grime quickly. Lemon essential oil also works great blended in to cleaning solutions to leave your kitchen sparkling clean and smelling fresh.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea Tree essential oil is a potent deodorizer and detoxifier. It has a strong, woodsy smell all on its own that some people find wonderful. Other people (like me) find it to be a tad overpowering. Tea tree oil is best used in the kitchen when mixed with other oils like lemon (in our Healthy Home Cleaning System) or lavender. It’s great for use in any area of your home that needs deodorizing and detoxifying – and makes a great garbage bin refresher!

Lemon + Tea Tree = Healthy Home Cleaning System

There’s not many people who don’t love the smell of lemon in cleaning products. Since tea tree doesn’t smell that great on its own, we need to mix it with something… right? Mix it with lemon!

We’ve taken the guess work out of making the perfect mixture with our Healthy Home Cleaning System. There’s a Lemon Tea Tree concentrate that is perfect to cleanse, purify & detoxify your kitchen! Simply pour the concentrate into the provided glass spray bottle, fill with water to the shoulder of the glass and VOILA! A natural, non-toxic cleaner that your kitchen – and your family – will love!
