1. Hydrate with Purpose 💧
Start your day with a full glass of water—bonus points if you add a slice of lemon for extra benefits! Hydration improves energy, digestion, and focus.
My favorite way to do this is to start each morning with a glass of warm water and lemon juice. It might seem weird to have a warm water, but I used to be a strictly coffee-only girl in the morning. I need a warm beverage, and this did the trick. It keeps me warm inside, and adds an extra glass of water into my day.

2. Deep Breathing for Instant Calm 🌿
I get it - when you're stress out, the last thing you want is someone to tell you take a deep breath! But trust me, this works!
Try the 4-7-8 breathing technique:
- Inhale for 4 seconds
- Hold for 7 seconds
- Exhale for 8 seconds
- Repeat 3-4 times for instant relaxation!
It definitely takes less than 5 minutes, and you'll quickly feel the benefits of this calming breath routine.
3. Stretch & Move 🏃♀️
Even 5 minutes of gentle stretching or a quick walk around the house can help relieve tension, boost circulation, and improve focus. I try to do this in between tasks, especially if I have been stuck at my desk at work all day. Sometimes, it is easier to squeeze in these quick wellness tips between tasks. Your brain and your body get a quick break, then its back to work!
If it helps, set a reminder on your phone to go off every hour or two. It doesn't have to be an alarm, just a silent pop-up on your phone screen that reminds you to stretch or get up and walk around. It's easy to forget to do it when you're busy! The phone notification has definitely helped me.
4. Quick Gratitude Check-In ✨
This may seem silly, but gratitude and health go hand in hand. Take a few minutes each day to remember the good things that happened, and write down three things you’re grateful for or simply say them out loud. I usually do this before I start working at my desk. There's something about working at a cluttered desk that my mind just can't handle. A quick tidy up and I'm instantly more productive. No matter how many wellness tips I try to follow, a clean desk is right near the top!
6. Use Essential Oils for a Wellness Boost 🍋
Diffuse lavender for relaxation, peppermint for focus, or citrus oils for an energy boost. Even applying a drop of essential oil to your wrists can create an instant mood shift!
You can also accomplish this without a diffuser. Use an essential oil-infused spray to instantly change the vibe in your workspace or to use as a personal body spray. The benefits are the same, and actually work faster when applied directly to your skin!
7. Step Outside for Fresh Air ☀️
A quick breath of fresh air and sunlight can help regulate mood, reset energy levels, and boost vitamin D. If you can, step outside for just 5 minutes! This makes a big difference for those who live in the Northern United States, where for many months of the year, the sun sets very early in the evening. Get outside whenever you can!
